1. Who is allowed to play on the courts?

  1. Only checked-in Members are allowed to play during member hours as per their membership plans.
  2. Non-members who want to play during member hours need to buy a day pass ($15) at the front desk in order to play in the facility.
  3. Players who have purchased and registered for open play events are allowed to play during open play hours.
  4. Non-members who are found inside the courts can be fined $250 if they are found playing without purchasing a day pass prior to entering the courts. Members escorting friends inside the courts to play without a day pass risk loosing their membership (account termination along with a fine of $250).

2. What is Open play and what are Open play rules?

  1. Open play refers to a playing session where players of various skill levels come together to play for a set frame of time.Players often rotate partners and opponents, allowing everyone to play with and against different people throughout the session. For beginners and intermediate players, open play provides an excellent opportunity to practice skills and learn from more experienced players.Please refer to  the open play rules

3. What shoes are allowed?

  1. Only Non-marking shoes are allowed.No black sole shoes are allowed.
  2. Anyone playing with marking shoes that can leave marks on the badminton courts will be fined. Fine for playing with marking shoes: $100.

4. How do I change my membership or training program?

  1. Any membership changes need to be requested via email to frontdesk@carolinabadmintonclub.com. It can take 1 to 4 working days to make changes.
  2. Membership Cancellation – 30-day notice.
  3. There is no membership hold option.
  4. Membership and training change requests made verbally at front desk and by phone will not be entertained. Email request is required.

5. How do I request make-up class?

6. Refunds

  1. Always email us at frontdesk@carolinabadmintonclub.com 30 days ahead of your next billing date so your account changes can be made in a timely manner. Refunds will not be issued for Membership dues from previous months if we don’t find an email request in our inbox.
  2. No refunds will be issued on Registration fees.
  3. No refunds will be issued on membership dues for account cancellations not meeting the notification period requirements.
  4. Should Academy find it necessary to remove a child from a class, a prorated refund will be issued for remaining classes left in the month.
  5. Refunds will not be issued for failure to attend a scheduled class.
  6. Refunds will not be issued on any unscheduled cancellations by Staff.
  7. Refunds will not be issued for any facility closures due to natural disaster, government emergency, health crisis or force majeure (act of God).

7. What is Registeration fees?

  1. Registration fees is a one time fee charged at the time of enrollment. It is not refundable upon account
    cancellation.
  2. Once account is cancelled, registration fees will be recharged prior to re-enrollment.

8. Does Carolina Badminton Club have CCTV footage and what is it used for?

  1. Yes, Carolina Badminton club has CCTV to monitor the facilities entry and exit points as well as public walkways and courts. The footage and recording are saved for several days however eventually get overwritten.
  2. Carolina Badminton club holds all the rights to any photos and videos taken within the premises including the CCTV footage and can use the footage for various purposes such as (but not limited to) for security related evidence when incidents occur, for live streaming of matches, social media posts for matches and short video posts.

9. What is the lost and found process at Carolina Badminton Club?

  1. Carolina Badminton Club is not liable or responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged property, whether from Rackets, bags, birdie tubes, vehicles or other items on the premises. Please inquire in person at the Front Desk for lost articles that may have been found. Phone inquiries regarding lost items are not allowed.
  2. If you find something that is not yours, you can take it to the front desk and they can place the item in the lost and found storage bin.
  3. If the item is of significant value and Front desk is not open, you can email at
    frontdesk@carolinabadmintonclub.com and provide a photo of the item found. We will work with you to find the owner and return the item.
  4. To claim the item, you will need to provide a valid photo ID and accurately describe the item.
  5. While we do our best to find the right owner, we cannot be held responsible if your item is lost or given away to someone else. We encourage you to return to the front desk at the earliest to recover your item. If another person claims your item, Carolina Badminton Club cannot be held responsible.
  6. The lost items bin is often emptied. Unclaimed items are discarded into trash or sometimes donated. We do not maintain records of these items.

10. Communication & Conduct

  1. All members, Non Members and Guests are required to engage with staff, volunteers, and other members in a polite and respectful manner. Harsh, abusive, or derogatory language is not tolerated. Depending on severity and frequency, conduct violations may result in warnings or suspension of membership.

11. Tournament and Club Events

  1. Management reserves the right to close the club to members, non-members, and guests when hosting tournaments or special events. These occasions are important for promoting badminton within our community and may require full use of the facility. Advance notice will be provided whenever possible.

12. What safety measures should you follow during play?

  1. If you hit a shuttle onto the adjacent court you must wait until play stops before you retrieve your shuttle.Wait until the play stops to walk behind, beside, or between courts.

13. Soliciting, Sale of products, goods and services on Carolina Badminton premises (inside and on our property).

The management of Carolina Badminton club prohibits the solicitation of its members and patrons by any third party while on the Carolina Badminton premises . Solicitation includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  1. Offering to sell or provide goods or services to members and patrons on the facilities property including the parking lot and walking areas can result in membership terminations with immediate affect.
  2. Trade of products on the premises (including parking spaces) is not allowed. This will result in membership termination.
  3. Soliciting members to join a different facility is not allowed.
  4. Soliciting members to participate in any activity that is not affiliated with Carolina Badminton Club is discouraged.
  5. Any member or  third party who violates this policy will be asked to leave the premises and may be banned from the facility in the future.
  6. Members, Non-members or any third party may be asked to leave the premises or be banned from entering the facility if management suspects solicitation.
